Subject: Likeable link on Coriolis Force
A classic science UL covered in the FAQ:
F.*Bath water drains the other way round in other hemisphere, due to Coriolis. T. Coriolis force affects fluids if you take incredible pains to isolate it. T. You can also consult the sci.physics FAQ [part 2].
There are several posts in the archives at http://tafkac.org/science/coriolis/
Another good link is http://www.ems.psu/~fraser/Bad/BadCoriolis.html which is from the Bad Meteorology web pages here at Penn State.
Of interest is the discussion of the tourist trick described in the AFU archives and a description of actual experiments to isolate the Coriolis Force in bathtub-size bodies.
Will "check it out" Wheeler
Penn State University "You know, Will may be pathetic, but he's wjw2@psuvm.psu.edu not *that* dumb." wheeler@po.aers.psu.edu ---The nicest thing Michele Tepper http://www.personal.psu.edu/wjw2 has ever said about me.
