1's and 0's Sound Better IN TECHNICOLOR!
In these days of CD-R and CD-RW, it almost seems laughable that people had these sorts of bizarro ideas about digital sound reproduction, but then one runs across a page like this, and one discovers that the capacity for people to fool themselves is deep, very deep. In any case, almost anything that can be said on the subject has been accumulated here. In essence, digital content is either reproduced or it is not: the addition of analogue changes to the media does not change the content of the digital information. All differences in sound reproduction when playing a CD come at or after the point of D/A conversion. |
