The only Philadelphia Experiment that matters is the one about the cream cheese

Debunked: The "Philadelphia Experiment" was a top secret, successful experiment where the US Navy made a battleship invisible. And maybe they teleported it, too.

This UL does not enjoy much currency these days except among the extremely wacky Art Bell-types. The notion that in 1943, the US government created the technologies of invisibility and teleportation, and is still covering this fact up, is boggling even to the most airheaded of us.

Suffice to say, though, that it was popular enough to have spawned a movie or two. A good summary debunking can be found here.
