Stop It, Or You’ll Go Blind

1998 email scarelore claimed that many children lose their sight each year from getting waterproof sunscreen in their eyes. There are no documented cases of blindness from sunscreen. The American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American Association of Poison Control Centers have specifically debunked this rumour. Sunscreen can be irritating to the eyes if eye contact occurs, flush with copious amounts of running water.

Debunked: Eye contact with waterproof sunscreen causes blindness.
