Debunked: Knuckle cracking will lead to arthritis.

In Dispute: It may damage your hand in other ways, though.

Several studies of people who cracked their knuckles did not find higher rates of arthritis among them. However, it is possible that other problems may result: one study found that chronic knuckle-crackers were more prone to swelling of the hand, and also had reduced grip strength.
