Soda Misadventures
As recounted in _Doster v. Delta Beverage Group, Inc.,_ Civil Action No. 92-3084 (E.D. La.), Jean Doster claimed that she was "severely injured in February 1992, when the cap of a two-liter plastic bottle of Pepsi-Cola exploded off the bottle and struck her in the eye." The court stated that she had tried to open the bottle with her hands, but was unable to do so. Ms. Doster contended that although her grandson was handing her a set of pliers or wire-cutters to use on the bottle, she never actually touched the cap with the the pliers or wire-cutters.
