Debunked: Unless marked "dairy", fast food shakes aren't milk: mostly carrageen gel.

Here's the ingredients of a McDonald's shake mix: Whole milk, sucrose, nonfat milk solids, corn syrup solids, cream, guar gum, sodium hexametaphosphate, carrageenan, imitation vanilla flavor, cellulose gum. (To which is added one of the various shake syrups, which have no milk.) So carrageenan is a major ingredient, but milk is even more prominent. Other fast-food companies are similar.
