Documented: The South American candiru, a small catfish, will swim into the human urethra and spike itself in place.

The candiru is a small catfish with urinophilic habits; attracted by traces of urine, it actually will settle itself in a human urethra. It is believed to be a feeder on blood or mucus-membrane tissue; this makes it one of a vanishingly small number of vertebrate parasites affecting humans.
