Subject: Reference for fish falling from the sky.
Hey, I just wished you happy birthday, and you asked about the reference for the fish falling from the sky story. I did a post from this right after HT's post on this, but one can't follow everything that comes over. Here it is:
The Elements Rage
Frank W. Lane
Chilton Books
A Division of Chilton Company Publishers
Philadelphia & New York
Copyright 1965 by Frank W. Lane First Edition
Library of Congress Catalog Number 65 - 25941
The specific reference is on page 79, in the chapter on waterspouts. The book is full of fun stories of stuff that Mother Nature does when she gets PO'ed, the chapters are:
Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Waterspouts, Hail, Avalanches, Lightning, Floods, Meteoroids, Earthquakes, and Volcanoes
Lane has a nose for good stories, but presents some of them as "This is
how I was told this, make of it what you like," so doesn't claim that
all of the stories are true. But the one about falling fish to which I
referred *was* fairly well-documented, though he tells a number of others
that are undocumented, and has the intelligence to make this fact clear.
