Tb. Aspirin is very bad for cats (slow removal of salicyates from their
bodies).
It's more than just salicylates - cats have a poor glutathione S-transferase conjugation system in their liver and have problames with a number of drugs. Poor coverage of vet literature in Medline means I can't give a definite cite - I'll check my texts at home for this.

Cats are more sensitive than dogs to the adverse side effects of a
variety of drugs (eg, aspirin, digoxin, selected antiarrhythmics), and
extra precautions must be taken when these drugs are used in cats.
