0. Introduction
Since my collection of .sigs and related posts has grown to 1.5 times the size of the AFU FAQ, I'm not going to post it anymore. In true Usenet fashion, that being said, I may post it periodically every couple of months. The entire list is always available on the AFU archive on cathouse.org in /pub/cathouse/urban.legends/afu/people/but.im.not.in.anyones.sig.list. This file is in the same place but with a .faq ending.
As soon as she reads this and sends me a better biography, this will be a better section. Here's what's known about Vicki:
. She's an odd physics professor at RIT
. She's a double alum from the University of Illinois (I won't post the
grad dates, let's just say she's safely half an "old hat")
*This just in: using her method of conception calculation and not using
a calculator, hey I did it in my head (the calculation, that is, it's
been awhile since I conceived in my head), no pencil and paper for me,
anyways back to the point: her birthday is: 10/8/52.
. She's divorced with 2 kids and is still taking bids on the lot (the
current bid is somewhere over two fifty)
. She has a clue
. In her own words, she's as "cute as the dickens"
2. How did this .sig virus start?
Vicki asked how one moves from the rank of newbie, to weenie, to old hat. Jon Papai followed up with a short test on what it takes to become an old hat. In Vicki's followup, she included her score and ended with the now classic:
Vicki "But I'm not in anyone's .sig." Robinson
I stole it, rearranged it, and put it in my .sig as:
--
Jason R. Heimbaugh - jrh@uiuc.edu
"But I'm not in anyone's .sig." --Vicki Robinson
Vicki noticed and sent me a piece of mail (edited here as it contained a smiley). So I decided to keep the .sig.
From: "Have a nice day. Or else." <VJRNTS@ritvax.isc.rit.edu>

Well, now that statement is kinda like that old saw "This statement is false."
Michael Henlsey actually started the virus part when he included the quote in his .sig, prompting my ObUL response, which prompted Vicki's email response:
From: "Have a nice day. Or else." <VJRNTS@ritvax.isc.rit.edu>

In article <2crpio$n4i@vixen.cso.uiuc.edu>, you write:
>In article <mhensleyCGx5Gv.Huz@netcom.com> mhensley@netcom.com (Michael Hensley) writes:
>>--
>>"But I'm not in anyone's .sig." -- Vicki Robinson
>>--
>>Michael D. Hensley | It isn't charity if you use someone else's money.
>>mhensley@netcom.com | The ends do NOT justify the means.
>ObUL: Vicki's quote will appear somewhere, at all times, in someone's .sig for
> the rest of Usenet's history. Remember kids, you saw it here first.
This might even be better than a hat! Are you handling the scheduling?
From here began the copying of the .sig and, even better, the mutations and
subtle references to Vicki herself. The rest, as they say, is not quite
history.
3. Who's currently a member of the Official Fan Club?
I tried to save a copy of every single .sig (and since this is AFU, middle names also count) I saw, but being a virgin kibozer, I missed one of Bob O'Bob's, I know I must have missed others. If you absolutely positively have to be a member and I missed you, send me a copy of your post and I'll add it sometime. As always, bribes help. Here's the list (number in parentheses is the number of variations of a .sig):

First off, the phrase is:
"Danger! Will Robinson, DANGER!" this line is credited to the robot of
'Lost in Space' but the robot WASN'T named Twiki! In fact the robot
NEVER had a name. He was ONCE called 'Hero' in an early episode, the
Heath Co. then introduced a kit robot bearing the same name. Irwin
Allen Productions claimed "It's not our robot!".
There never was a Vicki Robinson...at least in Lost in Space.
And the "Twiki" character was from "Buck Rogers"!
...I notice you're attending a Law University...I somehow doubt I'd be
very interested in having an attorney that's as scrambled upstairs as
you seem to be!
