It's sure nice to be back to good ol' AFU after a whole *month* of being too.busy.to.read-news. For those of you who wondered where I was, about a month ago I noticed that wherever I went I would see brown United Police State vans following me. I realized, to my horror, that I had been added to the hideous "termination" list of The Men In Brown, and so immediately began running from place to place under various assumed names until I was able to lure ....

Well, enough of me, let's see what's been going on in AFU, shall we?

I see that the Vicki Robinson threads have now mutated into meta-Vicki Robinson threads, with Joel Furr now complaining about people who put Vicki Robinson's name into their posts. And now that I have remarked on the meta-Vicki Robinson thread, this now becomes a meta-meta-Vicki Robinson thread....

Dave has done a nice job of dredging-up every net.nut-ball and presenting their history, and I notice that there is now an alt.usenet.kooks group, which prompted a snopes/cjl flame-skirmish here on AFU, which somehow seem appropriate...(I may yet get time to present an edited Net.Legends List as promised, but it will cost you 250 to get it)...Lessee....

Canada remains the unofficial AFU country of choice, even though New Zealand and North Carolina have made strong bids for the honor...AFUers have now managed to argue about the War Of Northern Aggression just like every other newsgroup in existance...nothing from Yawron about flodnaks yet... "lights-out" is still going strong..."blue-star tattoo" has erupted again...

Good ol' AFU. It's always there, with the same people in it, telling the same stories and jokes, and it's always a comfortable place to come home to.
