Las Vegas, March 3
At the plush Elders O' Zion, this city's newest and largest theme oriented hotel-casino, the shouts of excited bettors and the sound of cash disappearing into dropboxes are music to the ears of Casino Operations Manager Bill VanHorne. "The Jews really love it, bless their black hearts," he said. "Some people told me that we'd take a bath. But as usual my IMPORTANT inside INFORMATION proved correct."
VanHorne was referring to a new game he introduced when "The Big 'Z'" opened last week. He went on, "Craps was a dying game and the hold was way down. My sources indicated that potential players were turned off by the name. All I did was call it 'Nicey Dicey' and now we can't beat the Hebes off with a club."
Graveyard shift cocktail waitress Desiree LaFong agreed. "Golly it's really something. I allus avoided the craps pit because the action was so slow. But now...geez...I'd do most _anything_ to work it."
Some gaming industry insiders are skeptical. "That's okay for those guys on The Strip who cater to a family-type crowd," said danny "Bet-A-Million" burstein. "Downtown is a whole different world. I mean, think about it. Suppose the shooter comes out with a 12 at say, Binion's. Fer chrissakes the stickman would get lynched if he called 'Nicey dicey!'"
On a related note, the latest Vegas line on the AFU Pro-Am Bloodsport
Wankoff still favors E. Kirk to crack under the strain, 6 - 5 against.
